Ordinary
Ordinary was based on the Celtic Christian idea of God being in the ordinariness of life. Clucas was offering up to God the ordinariness of her life for him to be part of — a dedication of the whole of her, even the messy and boring bits. A weaving of the sacred into the ordinary.
Ordinary was originally a wall-based triptych, like an altarpiece, which sat behind a church-style communion table with a damask tablecloth. Cushions with objects placed on them — Clucas’s offering to God.
