About
Biography and artist statement.
Kaz Clucas is a contemporary artist working in mixed media, with a current focus in textiles — fabric, dye, stitch and paint. Her practice is rooted in the idea of pilgrimage: not a single, defined journey, but a layered, ongoing movement of the interior life across multiple scales of time.
She works slowly and contemplatively, choosing materials in response to the idea rather than a fixed medium. Her installations and objects invite viewers to pause, to reflect, and to find their own interior journey within the work.
Her practice sits at the intersection of contemplative Christian spirituality and contemporary material culture, drawn to the inner landscape of the heart and the outer landscape of the world as part of the same life — a life understood as pilgrimage, as faith without maps, as a willingness to dwell in uncertainty and find the sacred woven into the ordinary.
